How would you describe your teaching style in three words?
Inclusive - Compassionate - Invigorating
I believe in creating a space where everyone feels safe, seen, and supported in any and all stages of their practice. Sometimes even walking through those studio doors is a challenge in and of itself. Whether you are new to the studio or new to yoga completely, it takes a lot of courage to come into a place with a bunch of strangers and attempt to be vulnerable. I have found such a wonderful and supportive community here at 101 yoga. One of my favorite parts of being a teacher is being able to pass that on to any and all of the new people who come in. Watching them come back and continue their journey step by step and being able to watch them grow in so many aspects is the best part of this job I believe that true growth—physically, mentally, and spiritually—happens when practitioners feel comfortable enough to step out of their comfort zone. My approach emphasizes accessibility, mindful movement, and self-compassion, allowing each person to explore yoga in a way that honors their unique journey.
How do you help students overcome challenges in their practice?
I help my students overcome challenges by tuning into my intuition and energetically meeting them where they are.. sense they’re ready to be pushed, I encourage them to step outside their comfort zone. If they need to take a few steps back, I gently guide them in that direction. My goal is to create a supportive space where they can grow at their own pace while feeling safe, empowered, and seen.
What do you hope students take away from your classes?
I hope my students leave with confidence, patience, and the ability to pause, reset, and move forward with intention. How they treat themselves on the mat—with kindness, resilience, and self-awareness—should reflect how they approach life. My goal is for their practice to extend beyond the studio, helping them navigate challenges with grace and self-compassion, embodying a balanced and mindful way of living.
What’s your favorite song or playlist for a yoga session, and why?
My favorite type of music to play depends on the class. If it is a vinyasa class, I like playing tribal drumming music. I think it adds a powerful and unique vibe to the class. Other classes I like to play ambient, ethereal music, or some lofi beats.
A favorite quote or mantra that inspires you?
“Everything is temporary.”
Very short and simple, but in just 3 words it encapsulates the journey to self realization. It reminds me that any discomfort, and stress, and challenge, will not last forever. Additionally it reminds me that the best moments—whether it be getting to watch my son master a new skill, or a class where I was able to do something new for the first time— is just a short blip in one of many tiny moments that make up the human experience.
