How would you describe your teaching style in three words?
Present - Encouraging - Adaptable
How do you help students overcome challenges in their practice?
I encourage my students to take their yoga practice beyond the mat, integrating the yoga lifestyle into their daily lives. Passionate about optimizing performance, I enjoy researching and sharing my passion for bio hacking. Some of these techniques I use to help students overcome or work with their individual limitations. With a deep commitment to empathy and understanding, I strive to create a supportive environment where every student feels heard and empowered to navigate their unique challenges.
What do you hope students take away from your classes?
I want my students to leave the outside world behind when they step into my class, immersing themselves in a deep exploration or their inner Self. The songs in my playlists hold personal significance, representing different moments in my life and places in the world. I use music to generate the energy needed for a practice that is not just physically dynamic but also emotionally rich, sparking curiosity and excitement.
What’s your favorite song or playlist for a yoga session, and why?
My playlists are diverse including artists such as Trevor Hall, Xavier Rudd, Zach, Krishna Das, Enya, and Cantoma to name a few. These songs bring back memories of my world travels, life experiences and emotions. I spend much of my day listening to music, and create my playlists while doing the things I love including water sports of all kinds, skateboarding, contrast temperature therapy, and practicing yoga. I feel this brings a sense of genuineness to my music - and hope my students can feel it deep inside.
A favorite quote or mantra that inspires you?
“How is that working for you?”
I want my students to continuously reflect on how they spend their time, the habits they have developed, and why they do what they do.
“Nowhere to go, nothing to do. Everything is working just as it should”
I want my students to let go and really embrace their inner feelings; realizing that the human body is a powerful tool - much smarter and stronger than we often realize.
